On my bookmarked list, but never came until now! Don't sleep on this place people!
Came in for lunch and so glad I did. Their menu is about 3 pages but their are things posted on the wall either on the chalk board or written on white papers.
We sat on the bar and the service was great. We ordered a bento box and a katsu don. The bento box was a 3 option and it had a lot of food. The marinated steak was so good and tender. The fried pork loin was crunchy. The third option was sashimi and it was so fresh. It also came with a salad. Super filling. The bento box looked small but it actually was a large portion. It was about 6-7 pieces and it was so good! The sauce and the onions were great. It also came with a salad and small tofu appetizer.
We also ordered karaage and it was crunchy and yummy! We also last minute ordered the garlic tongue and I'm so glad because it was so good. It came with sautéed onions and carrots and was my favorite. The tongue was so tender and I would definitely get it again.
The seating area in front isn't too big, but I believe there is seating in the back as well. Good food at good prices. Definitely would come again and again lol. -

Made a reservation for four at 5:30 PM this past Saturday and they accommodated us right away.
Ambiance: It's a casual place, but felt like a fusion of modern/ authentic Japanese izakaya vibe. There's a few tables available to seat 2-6 depending on the table, and in the back is a private room for a minimum of 17 people I believe.
Service: The place filled up rather quickly several minutes after opening, but the servers were attentive and took our orders right away.
Food: So my father decided we should all start off with several appetizers. They have a chef's special for a beef steak w/ ponzu sauce (pictured) and beef tongue w/ garlic sauce (not pictured). Along with those two, we had a marinated eggplant, grilled squid, fried tofu, grilled salmon skin salad, and a Rainbow Roll for my boyfriend and I to share (all except salad and tofu pictured).
My bf is more of a "sushi roll" person rather than sashimi, so this was perfect for us. It was probably the BEST rainbow roll I've ever had in my life. The fish was fresh and the roll was tasty/ savory. The rest of the rolls are probably just as delicious!
All the other appetizers were all exceptional and extremely savory. The meats were very tender and juicy. I highly recommend them.
Food 2.0: I wrote 2.0 because this is the main food that weren't appetizers. We all got the 2 item combo option. Combo comes with miso soup, rice and salad. We all got within a mix of pork tenderloin cutlet, marinated mackerel, assorted sashimi, and spicy tuna roll.
They weren't terrible... but for $15.80 each (plus an additional $2 for my father since he ordered the assorted sashimi), the price wasn't worth it. The presentation was kind of a bummer and lacked "abundance". Apologies for not taking a picture, I was hungry haha.
My sister's combo came first and the rice tasted dry, hard and undercooked. The rest of ours wasn't too bad. The pork cutlet was also a bit hard/ dry.
Overall: The appetizers and the sushi roll we got were the stars of the show. Ordering several appetizers alongside beer is probably the way to go here. The combos were a bit of a let down for the price, but will fill you up if combined with the appetizers. -

Yummy!! Came here for dinner and ordered five dishes. Everything came out super fast. California roll was well made. Grilled octopus was tasty. Clam soup was good except some of the clams had sand in them. Fried tofu was delicious and the fried rice with egg on top also had great flavor. There were three of us and with five dishes we had plenty to eat. Service was good. Parking was easy. Definitely recommend coming here for some authentic Japanese food!

Ambiance: small and packed Japanese restaurant, parking lot is packed in front, more parking spots in the rear of the establishment, very limited tables available inside, so reservation is suggested for large group
Service: very fast and friendly, attentively refilled water
Food: authentic taste and wide variety of food selections
Char-Broiled Beef Tongue - **** Gyutan-Kushiyaki, so chewy and flavorful, recommend
Special Takana Fried Rice w/Fluffy Egg on Top - ***** Takana-Chahan, rich in flavors, highly recommend
Ojiya-Style Fresh Salad w/Homemade Soy Sauce Dressing - *** average taste
Tofu & Wakame Miso Soup - *** Wakame Miso Shiru, average taste
Assorted Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura - **** crunchy and tasty, recommend
Pork Tenderloin Cutlet - *** crispy outside, a bit dry inside
Assorted Sashimi - *** not premium quality
Price: decent portions and reasonable prices, expect $25+ each
